Latest public consultation – ‘Zones 3-6’ (Planning application approved by Warrington Borough Council’s planning committee in May 2016)
As with all parts of the UK, Warrington needs new homes for its growing population and Omega can help to deliver some of these. Omega South is an ideal location to create a sustainable development with business premises and jobs alongside 1,100 new homes, large open spaces, play areas, shops, a care home, hotel, restaurants and cafes plus other community facilities. However, the team appreciates that there is lots of work to do to make this site work for all these different types of development and this involves serious consideration of local roads, public transport and the M62 junction.
In May 2015 the team invited people to share their views on outline proposals for Zones 3-6 by attending events and submitting feedback. All feedback received was considered by the team and helped to inform the proposals which were submitted. The team would like to thank everyone that got involved in the consultation.
The Consultation Statement that was submitted as part of the planning application can be viewed here. The document summarises the feedback received and also addresses the main themes raised through responses from the project team (please see section 4 in the Consultation Statement).
The material displayed at the public exhibitions are also available to view and download here.
Please watch this page for more information. For any enquiries about these plans, please call Jo Sistern or Charlotte Wills, communications advisors on the Omega project line on 0344 225 0003 or by email email@example.com
Previous public consultation – ‘Zone 7’ (PLANNING APPROVED 15 MAY 2014)
In January 2014, ‘Zone 7’ proposals for manufacturing and logistics space, plus a new 35 acres Green Heart parkland area and a new internal access road, were presented for public consultation. This latest commercial development proposed could deliver anywhere between 3,000 and 4,000 warehouse and office jobs across a variety of skills levels.
The new Masterplan for Omega South was also presented for feedback.
On 15th May, Warrington Borough Council’s planning committee approved this outline planning application.
A ‘Consultation Statement’ report, documenting feedback received and the team’s response to points made, was submitted as part of the planning application. You can view the Consultation Statement and the original exhibition boards presented at the consultation events through the links below.
